ABOUT CAFÉ BIRKE

First things first,
this is not an actual café.

A novice in the kitchen. A disciple in the art of all things buttery, flaky and fluffy. My name is Devon and I am an amateur baker finding her own path through cakes, pies, muffins and more (life is tough enough as it is, so why not bake?).

I made the move from Singapore to Taiwan and then to Germany and Sweden for love. Left a secure job, my family and friends to start a brand new journey with the person I adore (let’s call him J). As I find my feet in each new country, I have decided to create Café Birke to chronicle my journey of bakes and failures (because the world needs another account about food and the human condition).

Watch my soufflés collapse and pancakes burn. They might be charred slightly, but delicious nonetheless.
